Mandatory Units |
- Teaching Swimming, Lifesaving and Survival Techniques
- Understanding How to Develop Participants Through Coaching Sport
- Understanding the Fundamentals of Coaching Sport |
Pre-requisites |
- Be of 17 years of age or older
- Hold current membership with STA
- Hold the STA Award in Pool Emergency Procedures or acceptable equivalent
- Hold the STA Award in Swimming Teaching or acceptable equivalent
- Hold either the STA Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults certificate (available online at www.trainsta.co.uk) or acceptable equivalent. |
Validity of Award |
The qualification does not have an expiry date.
To remain as an STA approved swimming teacher, and to receive the benefit of STA public liability insurance, holders of the qualification are required to:
1. Remain in membership of the STA
2. Keep knowledge up to date with regular CPDs
3. Keep their prerequisite lifesaving qualification in date
4. Regularly update their CRB. |
